This edition of MoreMikaraDaily.com: The Limelight, I completely fell in love with a jacket a blogger was wear and immediately had to find out where that jacket is from. While finding out who created the jacket, I spotted America's Top Model creator and host, Tyra Banks, wearing a very detailed black dress by this designer. So I wanted to reach out and introduce this designer, here is the Limelight: KRIE DESIGN.

KRIE DESIGN

[MIKARA] For anyone new to the amazingness that is Krie Design (fashion) , how do you get inspired to design such detailed clothing?

[KRISTINA] I am trying to design little art pieces that you can wear every day. Statement details are Krie design recognizable sign, but for me is very important that everything what I do, has some deeper meaning; so sustainable production is something that I am very proud of.

[MIKARA] How did you get your start as a designer? And how did you know that’s what you wanted to do?

[KRISTINA]  Back than when I was just a little girl , I always knew that fashion design is my life. I had my first collection at the age of nine. It was jeans collection for kids. I tried to offer it to my father's business partner, who was producing very boring clothe but they didn't take me seriously and thought I was just nine old kid.

[MIKARA] How would you describe your brand in 3 words?

[KRISTINA] Unique, statement, sustainable.

[MIKARA] Since you have the title, Designer, are you the Creative Director for Krie Design as well?

[KRISTINA] Yes , that is my formal status at Krie Design. Krie "designs" are apart of me and I am a part of my designs.

[MIKARA] How much of the business side of things are you involved in?

[KRISTINA] I am involved a lot, due to the fact that we are a small brand, just jumping on the fashion market and doing our best to make it. It is very hard when you are creative person and the decisions that you need to make are often not so creative. Also you are dealing with a lot of work behind design and creativity. The hardest thing for me is to make some compromises between what the market is looking. The art in me is always pushing forward as you can see in my statement pieces.

[MIKARA] How do you define fashion?

[KRISTINA] For me, fashion is an universal language.  When something is "in fashion" there are no barriers  ethical, geographical, none. That is how fashion connects people.

[MIKARA] One of my favorite design of yours it the blue jacket on your Instagram with the caption “ When your phone have the best camera” very striking and the color is gorgeous. If you had to pick, what is your favorite design now?

[KRISTINA] Jackets are my favorite pieces in every Krie collection.  At the moment my favorite design is white blazer with a braid detail, which we have presented as a part of new SS collection at Arab Fashion Week in Dubai. I think that I can express myself the best through blazers and jackets. These garment pieces are allowing me to bring some couture elements in Pret-a-porter collections which is making them wearable and extravagant at the same time.

[MIKARA] If Krie Design could have any celebrity or personality as a spokesmodel, who would it be?

[KRISTINA] Krie Design core belief is that fashion can be at the same time ethical and affordable. Sustainability for Krie not only means environment but people too.  It is all about taking on daily basis all the efforts required in order to have a sustainable development and a raising awareness in the whole fashion industry. So my choices would be ladies like Jessica Alba, Bianca Jagger, Christy Turlington or Miley Cyrus who has already looked for Krie in our LA showroom.

[MIKARA] Outside of fashion, what do you do for fun ?

[KRISTINA] Traveling is my passion, something that inspires me and  makes me happy at the same time. Two years ago I went on a road trip with my very good friend, and we have visited around 70 cities and places from Italy to France, Spain, Portugal and back. It was amazing journey and I can still take some inspiration for my collections from it.

[MIKARA] Closing out this interview: What's next for the brand Krie Design?

[KRISTINA] Our goal is fashion with a message. We want to be the fashion  messengers of the new age that comes for humanity. We want to make clothes that have a  sustainable background story and high end fashion garments at once.
